Gordon Reid 准教授

I’m from Vancouver, Canada where I received my Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree and also a Master of Education degree. I have enjoyed travelling throughout the world but Japan is the place that I seem to keep coming back to. I originally came to Japan in 1989 on a working/holiday visa, teaching English at a juku in Nagano. Since then I have also taught in Fukui and more recently in Osaka. Being in Yamanashi allows me to explore all of the hiking trails in the area, but of course the important thing is getting to know the students at this university.

My teaching tends to focus on student interaction where all students are involved throughout the lesson. Learning a language is something we must practice as well as study. The classroom is your opportunity to try different words and forms of the language, so participating in the class activities is important as well as expected.
